Tulbagh Heritage Foundation

The Tulbagh Valley Heritage Foundation (TVHF)  was established in 2008.

The organisation was formally recognised by Heritage Western Cape as Tulbagh’s official commenting body in 2015.

During this time, the organisation researched and produced an inventory of all buildings with in the declared Heritage Area. See Link

In 2017, Jayson Clark’s Masters thesis was completed on the reconstruction of historic Church Street. See link.

In 2018, Heritage Western Cape declared all buildings in Church Street to be collectively grade II Provincial Heritage Sites

In 2020, Witzenberg Municipality declared a Heritage Overlay Zone for Church, Van der Stel and Piet Retief streets.

The TVHF meets on an ad hoc basis to discuss any plants that have been submitted that require comment.
