- The historic architectural splendour and timeless interiors of CAPE DUTCH QUARTERS set us apart from most establishments in the valley.
- The heritage houses were built in 1810 and 1813, but were Victorianised at the end of the 19th Century. After the earthquake of 1969, these properties were restored and reconstructed ,with no costs spared, back into their original historic appearance.
- Tulbagh Country Guest House has been operating as a guest house since 2000, but was incorporated into Cape Dutch Quarters in 2005 when the current owner, Jayson Augustyn-Clark, returned to Tulbagh from the UK.

Extremely disappointing stay at Cape Dutch Quarters in Tulbagh.
Advised just before we were about to depart for Tulbagh by the owner,
Jayson Clarke, that the accommodation booked was infested... read more by a bee-
swarm and therefore unsafe and we were offered an upgrade at the Manor House.
He told us that he knew about this since December and our trip was 13 – 15 January.
He told us that he could offer alternative superior accommodation and facilities including exclusive use of the pool and entertainment area, apart from one other person was staying at an extension of the Manor House.
In fact, the pool was actually a plunge pool and the area was being used by three friends of the owner, two of whom were extremely inebriated and monopolized the use of the outside area for both nights of the stay. It was not our intention to spend very hot afternoons/evenings indoors to avoid being with drunken people. In addition to this, the space above the ceiling of one of the bedrooms was infested with crickets and kept the occupants awake for two nights of the stay and left them very grumpy and disgruntled as we were sold a completely different scenario. Staff support was very thin on the ground. A refund was refused and as world-wide travellers, this has been one of our worst experiences.Zivia D

The decorations in the common areas looked like they had been deterioration untended for years.
